It was developer John T. Moore who saw the great potential of the area now known as Moore Park when he envisioned plans for an affluent suburb for those wealthy residents who yearned to be removed, but still connected to Toronto’s busy city streets. The majority of homes in Moore Park were constructed in the years between 1900 and 1930. They were built on large, wide lots and most homes were created in the English Cottage, Georgian and Tudor styles. And because Moore Park is surrounded by ravines, many homes back on to lush green spaces—a rare opportunity in an urban setting.

Moore Park is a midtown Toronto neighbourhood far removed from the city’s busier areas. Yet, it is just minutes from downtown and is serviced by a transportation system that easily connects residents to the rest of the city.
The Bayview Extension roadway runs to the southeast of the neighbourhood from Moore Avenue and from here drivers can easily reach the Don Valley Parkway, the Gardiner Expressway and other major urban highways. Mt. Pleasant Road, to the west of Moore Park, is a major north-south corridor that brings motorists directly to the downtown core. TTC buses run through Moore Park on Moore Avenue, Mount Pleasant Road and St. Clair Avenue East. These bus routes deliver residents to nearby St. Clair subway station at Yonge Street, which provides quick access to the rest of Toronto’s public transportation network.
