“The air of country is here, kept constantly pure by the oxygen from the forest, so invigorating, so beneficial to the city of man, who, unless he was aware of it, would never think that busy King Street was but three miles away, and that the nearby Yonge Street cars could whisk him downtown in a few minutes.”
—Excerpt from the book Historic Moore Park

Moore Park is an affluent Toronto neighbourhood centrally located just north of Rosedale and west of Leaside, and yet it remains a world unto itself. Situated only 15 minutes from downtown Toronto, Moore Park is surrounded by lush ravines and a network of trails that offer residents access to nature right in their own backyards.

The vast Mount Pleasant Cemetery, with its access to the Beltline Trail, is Moore Park’s northern boundary, and the Moore Park Ravine, with its 8 km of walking trails, cushions Moore Park to the east. The wide Vale of Avoca Ravine and the Park Drive ravine are the western and southern borders of Moore Park, respectively. Moore Park is unique; no other Toronto neighbourhood can boast such an abundance of nature on all boundaries.
Moore Park has always been one of the most sought after neighbourhoods in Toronto and is well known for its excellent schools, quiet, tree-lined streets, and its family-friendly community. Add to this its enviable position surrounded by a natural barrier of parks, ravines, and green spaces, and it is easy to see why many consider Moore Park to be one of the best neighbourhoods in Toronto.

It was developer John T. Moore who saw the great potential of the area now known as Moore Park when he envisioned plans for an affluent suburb for those wealthy residents who yearned to be removed, but still connected to Toronto’s busy city streets. The majority of homes in Moore Park were constructed in the years between 1900 and 1930. They were built on large, wide lots and most homes were created in the English Cottage, Georgian and Tudor styles. And because Moore Park is surrounded by ravines, many homes back on to lush green spaces—a rare opportunity in an urban setting.

Moore Park is a neighbourhood bursting with community supported recreational activities and residents have long enjoyed the benefits of the opportunities that surround them. Moore Park’s location, nestled in between some of the most spectacular ravine networks in the city, means that residents enjoy the easy access to nature—a privilege that can be hard to find in a centrally-located urban area.
The Rosedale Moore Park Association
The RMPA is one of the oldest neighbourhood associations in Toronto and their community centre, Mooredale House, is a hub of activity famous for hosting Mayfair, the city’s longest running neighbourhood fair. Popular summer and March Break camps, a preschool, swimming pool club, sailing club, and numerous instructional programs are just some of the recreational benefits that residents of Moore Park enjoy living close to Mooredale House.
Moorevale Park
Moorevale Park is a beautiful green space situated at the northern edge of Moore Park and is the setting for a children’s playground and wading pool, the Moore Park Lawn Bowling Club and the Moore Park Tennis Club. A large field also has a baseball diamond and open space for neighbourhood residents to enjoy. Moorevale Park is a safe and friendly place that resident families take pleasure in throughout the year
Moore Park Tennis Club
Located in the heart of the neighbourhood at Moorevale Park, the Moore Park Tennis Club has 5 hard courts with lights for night time play and offers members their choice in a range of instructional programs and leagues. There is also a vibrant social aspect to this friendly neighbourhood tennis club, with weekly round robins and special member events. The welcoming atmosphere and the convenient facilities of the clubhouse make this tennis club a wonderful benefit to living in Moore Park.
Moore Park Ravine
One of the biggest benefits to living in Moore Park is the convenient access to the Moore Park Ravine, an area that covers 32 acres and runs alongside Mud Creek, one of the Don River tributaries. Residents enjoy the year-round options for hiking, walking and biking along the Moore Park Ravine footpath. This 8 km path is a nature lover’s woodland dream and stretches from the Belt Line Trail in Mount Pleasant Cemetery through the Rosedale Ravine to the Evergreen Brickworks area - a park with ponds, trails and wetlands. The frequent farmers markets held here are also a popular attraction for area residents. In all seasons, residents of Moore Park benefit from the connection to nature that the Moore Park Ravine provides.

Moore Park is a midtown Toronto neighbourhood far removed from the city’s busier areas. Yet, it is just minutes from downtown and is serviced by a transportation system that easily connects residents to the rest of the city.
The Bayview Extension roadway runs to the southeast of the neighbourhood from Moore Avenue and from here drivers can easily reach the Don Valley Parkway, the Gardiner Expressway and other major urban highways. Mt. Pleasant Road, to the west of Moore Park, is a major north-south corridor that brings motorists directly to the downtown core. Residents of Moore Park benefit from the fact that they can be in the heart of the financial district in just 15 minutes.
TTC buses run through Moore Park on Moore Avenue, Mount Pleasant Road and St. Clair Avenue East. These bus routes deliver residents to nearby St. Clair subway station at Yonge Street, which provides quick access to the rest of Toronto’s public transportation network.

One of Moore Park’s greatest assets is its location. Not only is it located close to the downtown core but it is also close in proximity to some of the best restaurants, shops, and entertainment areas of Toronto.
Residents can choose from the fine selection of shops and restaurants at Yonge and St. Clair, or choose to go east and sample what Bayview Avenue in Leaside has to offer. The exclusive shops and eateries in high-end Yorkville are also just a short 10-minute drive away.
Many Moore Park residents enjoy the short walk “over the ramp” to the tucked away shops on Summerhill Avenue in North Rosedale. Summerhill Market has been serving the residents of both neighbourhoods gourmet prepared foods and excellent grocery offerings for over 50 years. A dry cleaners, veterinarian clinic, pharmacy, and flower shop, also provide Moore Park residents with friendly local neighbourhood conveniences.
