Davisville Village is a popular Toronto neighbourhood that attracts families, young couples and professionals. Bordered to the north and south by Eglinton Avenue and Merton Street, and to the west and east by Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue, Davisville Village sits quietly in the middle of thriving mid-town Toronto.
One of the advantages of buying a home in Davisville Village is its proximity to excellent recreational facilities and parks, outstanding shopping districts, restaurants, schools and movie theatres. This family-centred neighbourhood offers residents a choice of detached and semi-detached homes, condominiums and even some original homes that were built in the late 1800s still remain.

Davisville Village was born when its southern portion of land was subdivided in the 1860s. The northern section began its development later, in 1911, when the same company that developed Lawrence Park purchased the land.
The majority of homes, however, were constructed in the 1920s and 1930s, and the styles differ by their location. West of Mt. Pleasant Rd., houses are generally large two or three storey homes built in the gracious style of either English Cottage or Edwardian. Numerous duplexes and walk-up apartment buildings can also be found here. Homes east of Mt. Pleasant are typically smaller, with detached and semi-detached homes nestled beside charming bungalows. This is also the historical area of Davisville Village with some houses dating from the late 1800s. Newer built custom homes keep the area fresh and current as well.

Davisville Park is a 2.4-hectare park nestled in the middle of this community and is the social and recreational centre of this neighbourhood. Children from the surrounding community love playing in the playground, splash-pad and wading pool, and they bring energy and excitement to the park. The Davisville Tennis Club uses six floodlit tennis courts on evenings and weekends for its active House League schedule. Another popular draw to Davisville Park is the baseball diamond, which is extensively used by both adults and children for their baseball leagues.
Another advantage of buying a home in Davisville village is Oriole Park, located one block west of Yonge St. This park is very special to the community because it is home to the first playground in Toronto designed specifically for children with disabilities. Neshama Playground has a water park, sensory musical features, Braille panels, an enclosed merry-go-round, and accessible swings for children of all abilities to enjoy.
The North Toronto Memorial Community Centre is a neighbourhood multi-use facility located on Eglinton Ave. between Yonge St. and Avenue Road. The centre is packed with opportunity for activities, and offers a wide variety of programming for all ages. This remarkable facility has:
• Indoor and outdoor pools
• Fitness centre with weight room
• Gymnasium
• Several multipurpose rooms and meeting spaces
• Excellent programs for seniors
• Large, light-filled lobby
The Advisory Council of this centre contributes to the facility with donations of new equipment and staff support. In the green space behind this community centre lies Eglinton Park, which is a large multi-use park that is home to community operated soccer and baseball organizations, as well as hockey and skating programs located at the North Toronto Memorial Arena on the south-eastern edge of the park.

An abundance of shopping and restaurant options are available to residents in Davisville Village. Whether shopping, dining, or strolling, you will find something that piques your interest along Bayview Avenue. There are pubs, cafés, sandwich shops and patios along the vibrant street; all with an eclectic choice of menus, such as Indian, Asian Fusion, Japanese, Italian, and Mexican. Some of the city’s most famous wings and burger restaurants are located on Bayview Avenue and offer a degree of spice for every taste. Originals is a family favourite with a kids’ menu and upstairs playroom and Hollywood Gelato is always buzzing too.
The shopping corridor on Mt. Pleasant Road, called Mount Pleasant Village, is very popular with those who like to browse antiques and collectibles, have their hair done, get a manicure, enjoy a tasty meal in a quaint bistro and browse gift, art, and home decorating shops. In addition, a much-loved, old-time movie theatre on this street brings neighbours together to share in an atmosphere that has almost been lost with the arrival of large movie-plexes.
